My approach is gentle, aimed at preventing overwhelm or triggers. I use an eclectic blend of therapies, including client-centered, experiential, and existential (or spiritual) therapy. Existential therapy integrates the mind, body, and spirit. We will explore the stories you tell yourself and view them from new perspectives. We will focus on your role in your life, fostering accountability for your decisions and cultivating both responsibility and self-compassion.
Many people try to avoid difficult feelings like anxiety, but through our work, you’ll come to understand that you’re okay in the midst of it. If your anxiety is to the degree of anger, you may have developed ways to function highly without even realizing it. You’ll learn to identify the signals your body and mind give, empowering you to make meaningful changes. You have more control and autonomy than you might realize.
We’ll also evaluate the decisions you’re making, the presence or absence of boundaries, and any discrepancies between what you say and how you act. When necessary, we’ll work through challenging emotions like rejection, helping you identify triggers so you can manage them before they escalate into outbursts or breakdowns.
By the end of our time together, my hope is that you will feel empowered and grounded in the present.
